SERIOUS Weekend Ahead. When Can I Practice???

Wow, so although Jon is in Costa Rica now, having been deposited at the airport in the dark at 6 a.m. today by a groggy moi, my weekend has now officially become jam packed. So much for hoping to have lots of time to myself so that I could shed my arse off, lounge around my house, catch up on my movie/DVR watching, and go for a run or a bike ride. Minimal, if any, of that will happen now.

But it'll be fun to see my peeps that are coming to visit me from out of town! Tito J. will be here and we've made lunch plans on Sunday. Tomorrow Boof and T will be here and they've taken my standing offer of staying at my house, meaning I gotta hustle and get the futon in the 2nd bedroom ready, tidy up a little, etc etc. Tonight will be fun, as I'll be at Last Concert for the Anders Osborne show, and Enor and Phillipo will be there, among others. I've planned to stay at Jon's house tonight b/c since I very erroneously thought it was going to be a mostly free weekend, I volunteered to get my buns to the Academy at 7:45 in the a.m. tomorrow for applicant testing helping. Meaning I can pick up the unmarked patrol car we keep downtown, which is literally down the street from where Jon lives. Gas is too expensive for me to burn my own and that car needs to be loved/driven anyway!

So here's the weekend lineup (I hope):

Tonight:

• Get home, check the mail, pack my Academy outfit and gear (gun, etc.)
• Anders Osborne show! I've given up booze on Lenten Fridays... so will maybe have a sangria at midnight? Heh heh heh.

Tomorrow:

• Get to the Academy by 7:45 a.m. Ok, 8 a.m.
• Hopefully done by noon, get home and spend some time working on my file and also I NEED to practice! Still got tons of bass work to do!!!
• Boof and T should arrive around 5ish? They'll have to meet me at Dan's for the SXDE shows as my friends play at 5 and 5:30
• Dinner w/Boof and T at some point
• I'd wanted to spend Sat. night shedding and relaxing, but now who knows what'll happen

Sunday:

• Sleep in, meet Tito J for lunch!
• Say goodbye to Boof and T at some point
• Spend time shedding, working on my file, going on a bike ride/run??? Could I possible have time for some much-needed exercise???
• Back to Dan's for Day 3 of SXDE by 6:30 to see Rozzy's jazz trio play and also another knucklehead friend/ex's band after that
• Pick up Jon at the airport at 8:30pm!

I practiced for over an hour last night and it was great. I'm learning so much so fast. I also got 3 offers from people who want me to play w/them, yet when I told Jon about them he said he really wants to start a project w/me and some of our other musician friends. He also wants me to play a trio gig w/him and his mandolin partner next month, just like we did at Jon's mom's retirement party! So this was all news to me and I'm so excited!!! Yet this means I gotta have my CHOPS DOWN. I gotta be strong and confident. I told Jon in that case I would forego these other offers and concentrate on him. He says he wants me to be an integral part of what he does from now on. I am actually trembling with excitement from the thought of playing seriously w/Jon and the honor of being asked to do so. Never mind that he's my boyfriend, my love--he's a killer guitarist and the whole world knows it.
