Royal Rumble

Boy, last night was fun! The wrestling PPV was a good one. We howled with laughter. That's why I like wrestling: not just to share S's passion with him, but also b/c wrestling is just plain silly. It's so stupid it's funny! And there is no denying the athleticism. Sure, the matches are prearranged as far as who wins, but who cares? I reminded S that 1 year ago we were in Miami, seeing live this exact PPV.

Also, we had a great weekend with the baby. On Sat. night she and I watched the Muppet Show on tape and danced around. Then she lay on top of me on S's recliner while I painted her nails. Later S assembled this cute artist easel I'd bought for her so she could be an artist. And my aunt called us to invite us to my 7-yr. old cousin's b-day party on the 10th!

Sunday I took the baby to church after S went to work. We went to the nearby Methodist church, since I was raised Catholic and I can relate to the Methodists. It was an enjoyable experience. They sang peppier songs than I am used to hearing in the Catholic church. I like churches where you can clap your hands (on the other hand, I don't ever want to go Pentecostal!). And the baby was very well-behaved for the most part. We'll go back again for sure!

After church we went to the zoo. It was a bright sunny day although a bit chilly, but the zoo was packed. As always, we had a blast there. While in the reptile house we were looking at a humongous boa constrictor. She asked, "Will that snake bite me?" I said, "No, that snake is so big he doesn't have to bite. He just swallows you whole!" and some parents standing nearby heard me and cracked up. She wanted to ride on the carousel, and as zoo members we do get discounts on the rides, but you have to buy your discount token all the way at the front gate. Still, she'd never ridden the carousel, so I told her that we'd have to walk all the way back to the front to buy our token. This man overheard me and held out a carousel token and asked if we wanted it! So we got to ride the carousel, the baby on a zebra!

After the zoo she fell asleep in the car, and we went home for only 30 min. before we had to head up north to meet S. We dropped her off (Dickhead is growing a mustache, and since he is already white trash, his wispy brown mustache now makes him look like trailer white trash! Ha ha!) and went to the sports bar to meet M. who had saved us a table. The waitress did not charge me and S for our cokes, though she charged M.'s for his. (Hmmm. I can't help but wonder if we got a free carousel token and free soft drinks b/c I gave at the church earlier? S advised me to read the parable in the Bible about the woman who had nothing but gave all. I do know that on the msn money boards I read several people have claimed that after they started tithing their financial luck turned around and even improved incredibly. Of course, that's not a reason to tithe or give, just so you get something back, but I can't help wondering if our good fortune yesterday was just a coincidence or not.)

I'm delighted. Dave Ramsey is back on the radio during the day!!! Off to listen!
