Wow, I can't believe how fast that opt-out form from the county took effect. What that is, is you can fill out the form to opt-out of having your info. posted on their fabulously informational website. I.e., anyone can look you up to see where you live if you're a registered voter (they used to be able to see how old you are until the county pulled that item) or can see how much your house is appraised at and how much your property tax bill is. I know this 'cause I'm very nosey and look people up all the time!!!
Anyway, I filled out the opt-out form and mailed it in last week and today none of my info., not even a listing for me, comes up on the website anymore. It's like I no longer exist! It's kinda creepy but definitely cool. No one needs to be knowing my shit. Of course, all info. is still available under the Public Information Act, but now if anyone wants to be nosey about me, they have to go in person to fill out a bunch of paperwork. Ha!
